1 Corinthians 12:1-11

(1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

The Corinthian church had a complicated gifting problem. About something, some events, and it that comes from the problem of gifts, Paul said, "Brothers, I want you to know well about spiritual things." There are many things that are spiritual. Someone who spoke in tongues, received a revelation, saw a vision, heard a hallucination, or healed a disease. This is a gift. When we say that we are spiritual, the way we can know is to feel. It is something that feels, experiences, and experiences spiritual things. However, the Bible says, "You must know in the gift." It is said that it became a problem as the church members reacted and followed as they felt.

It is dragged by the idols. There are no rational criticisms or rational questions there. Then, when we had a spiritual experience, when we had a dream, or when we saw a vision, or when we heard something, we said, "What should I do? Is this biblical, what does it mean?" This is what we have to think about. Gifts are helping faith. It is to help faith to bear the fruit of grace. Grace is absolute, but gift is preferential.

When the gift of the Holy Spirit is revealed to each person, some learn knowledge, some speak tongues, some perform power, and some interpret tongues... Each gift appears differently. It is said, It is to be beneficial to give each person the appearance of the Holy Spirit. In this way, the purpose of the gift is to make it useful for God's work. However, if there is a fearful content, it is different from the grace that helps faith. The other is, "All these things are done by the same Holy Spirit and divide them according to his will." God gives these gifts to this person and those gifts to that person.
